And just like that, our Spring 2026 8 Week Challenge is officially wrapped.
Every time I run one of these challenges, the hope is always to help people build healthier habits.
Yes, we track protein, we strength train, and we talk about sleep, recovery, movement, accountability, and consistency...
But honestly? What I get the most joy out of is bringing people together.
When I first moved to Kansas City about 14–15 years ago, I remember feeling so damn lonely. There were things I wanted to go to, workouts I wanted to try, events I wanted to show up for — but I didn’t always have someone to go with. And sometimes that alone is enough to keep you home.
That’s exactly why this kind of community means so much to me.
Even when it starts as a virtual challenge, it becomes something bigger. It gives people a reason to check in. A reason to show up. A reason to try something new. A reason to get out of their comfort zone in more than one way.
That is the goal with these challenges.
Are they a huge money maker? Hell no.
Do people get a ton out of them? Absolutely.
And I cannot wait to keep building this even more.
We started the challenge with a kick ass workout at Onward Therapy, and it was such a good way to set the tone for the full 8 weeks. We had a great crowd, a lot of motivation, and that beginning-of-the-challenge energy that always feels so exciting.

Of course, the real work is maintaining that energy once the newness wears off. Eight weeks is long enough for life to happen. Schedules get busy. Motivation dips. Sleep gets weird. Work gets stressful.
But this crew did a pretty damn good job of staying in it.
One of my favorite parts of these challenges is getting people together outside of workouts, too.
Our KC Current game outing was probably the favorite of the whole challenge. It was so fun, and there are already talks about how we can get a group outing together for our new professional softball team, the KC Diamonds.

We also had an Urban Hike around the new Rock Island Bridge and the West Bottoms, which was such a cool way to get outside, move, and do something different together.

On Memorial Day, we took on Murph — and let’s be real, a lot of people were intimidated by it going in. But that made it even better. Everyone was able to see that yes, it is hard, but yes, they could actually do it. That workout always reminds people they are capable of more than they think.

And then we had our Tap Ins at the Greenhouse outing, where we fully intended to play putt putt and then absolutely did not play putt putt. We mostly sat around, caught up, laughed, and enjoyed being together — which honestly feels like the whole point anyway.
Instead of weekly mini challenges every single week, we had multiple rounds of challenge BINGO — and people rocked those cards.

The BINGO squares included things like hitting protein goals, getting strength workouts in, knocking out 100 Wall Ball Finishers of 100 KB Swing Finishers, prioritizing recovery, trying something outside of your comfort zone, practicing TA breathing, checking in with an accountability partner, showing up for our community events, supporting local businesses and building the kind of habits that actually carry over into real life.
And when people black out a BINGO card, the prizes get bigger.
Carol and Amity both blacked out their first BINGO cards, which means they get to join Whit and me at a KC Current game this summer with food and drinks included.
Some of the mini challenges were simple, but they ended up being some of my favorite parts of the entire challenge.
We shared favorite high-protein recipes, which turned into our own little high-protein recipe cookbook inside the group. We shared hype songs. We checked in on habits. We celebrated the tiny wins that do not always look flashy, but absolutely add up.And we got real with each other, too.
One of my favorite moments was seeing people announce big personal goals inside the group — like Alex deciding to quit vaping — and then watching an entire crew get behind her. Hello, Lindsay showing up with gum and snacks like the support queen she is.

That is the kind of stuff that makes this more than a fitness challenge.
It is not just “did you hit your protein?” or “did you get your workout in?” It is people saying, “I am trying to change something hard,” and then realizing they do not have to do it alone.
We had people trying new classes, venturing onto the turf, showing up for events they may not have gone to by themselves, tracking sleep and realizing they need more of it, finding accountability partners + making new friends, and learning that having a plan — any plan — can help you grow and improve.
We have people that are going to continue tracking through the summer because they realized the structure actually helped. We had people build consistency with strength training, protein, and recovery. We had people show up for Murph scared and leave realizing they could do hard things.
That’s the stuff I love seeing.
Because the workouts matter BUT so does learning what helps you stay consistent when life is busy. So does having people around you who are trying too. So does realizing you are not the only one who struggles with protein, sleep, motivation, or getting yourself to do the thing.
That is where the magic is.

We wrapped everything up last night at The Combine, and it was the perfect way to close out the challenge.
Throughout the 8 weeks, every weekly check-in counted toward our overall consistency awards. We tracked consistency with protein goals, strength training goals, and sleep/recovery goals.
Our overall Consistency Champion was Danielle Spencer, who consistently checked in with the most days of hitting her protein goal, strength training goal, and sleep/recovery goal.
We also awarded individual category winners:
Amanda Trout took the sleep/recovery category.
Brennan had the top protein intake consistency.
Amity and Carol were recognized for being absolute bomb-ass accountability partners.

And we had six people tied for strength training consistency, so obviously we had to break the tie with a wall sit and trivia competition.
Because why not make people’s legs shake while answering questions about me?
The trivia questions were:
What year did I start my fitness career?
What was my first career before personal training?
How many children do I have? Fur babies, duh.
What is my favorite HYROX event?
Is Tapp my last name or Whit’s?
What is my slogan — aka what are we tapping into?
Feel free to answer those in the comments if you think you know!
I am so damn thankful for this crew.
Thank you for showing up. Thank you for checking in. Thank you for trying new things. Thank you for being part of this community and helping it become what it is.
And I really mean that.
I could not do any of this by myself. These challenges only work because people engage, participate, comment, check in, show up, invite others in, and support each other along the way. It is my people who make this possible.
It is also my wife’s support, patience, and belief in me that helps me keep building this thing. Whit has been there through the late nights, the big ideas, the stress, the pivots, the studio chaos, and all the behind-the-scenes pieces that people do not always see.
This challenge in particular came during a wild season. These last few weeks have been a lot with getting the studio up and running, adjusting to a new chapter, and trying to keep all the pieces moving. So I also want to say thank you for the patience, grace, and support through all of that.
We are here.
We are doing it.
And it is possible because of the people who continue to support me, believe in this, and show up for Tapp Into It Fitness.
I hope you feel my gratitude through my actions, my effort, and my intentions with these challenges because we all know I could use some help with my words :)
I am so fortunate to be in the place I am right now, and I do not take that lightly.
Look out for monthly community events until the next 8 Week Challenge.
