Last night we wrapped up our challenge with a celebration at The Dub — Kansas City’s first women’s sports bar, owned by my friends Monica and Rachel, and it was the perfect place to bring this group together. Some of our accountability partners even took the streetcar down together, which honestly warmed my heart and felt like such a fun, very “this community” way to kick off the night. We started at 7 and handed out awards right away so everyone could relax, catch up, and actually enjoy the rest of the night together.

First award went to our Steps Champion, Jerry Croft, who consistently showed up for daily movement. Next was the Strength Training Award to Alex Sprague, who was actually my very first client back at Title 5 years ago and somehow found her way back to training with me full circle — which honestly meant a lot more to me than she probably realizes. The Water Intake Award went to Karli Riechart, who accepted it while holding an espresso martini, which felt pretty on-brand. She's been a top contender the past two challenges and placed in the top 3.

The Mindset Matters Award went to Ashley Blonquist, new to the challenge, who had an incredible mindful transformation throughout this challenge and also created and shared the How to Winter PDF that so many of you appreciated. I’m excited to continue working with her and building on that mindset-first approach moving forward.

One of my favorite moments was giving the Accountability Partner Award to Lindsay Sills and Ashley Washington. I knew I chose correctly here when Ashley showed up with a gift to Lindsay which was a water bottle with sassy sayings and drink timelines and Aldi coin holder. These two didn’t just check in with each other — they took classes together and even went on an ALDI run together after both Lindsay and my wife Whitney tried convincing Ashley that ALDI is, in fact, the best place in the world (cue Aldi coin holder).

Then we announced our Top 5 Consistency Winners, based on steps, hydration, and strength training combined (highlighted above!)

Cory was just one point behind Sarah, so they both absolutely deserved recognition. Another fun story about Cory, he reached out for me for training back in April 2024 and then my response to him sat in his SPAM inbox for over a year. Cory totally thought I ghosted him and then I had that awkward, "hey did you ever receive my e-mail" talk with him in person and discovered he never did and we both thought each other was being ghosted. Anyways, I'm thankful we train together now and he is going to have a BIG year, I'm telling y'all now!

Many of you know Sarah as my HYROX partner, but what I really wanted to highlight is that she said this challenge felt “easy” — not because it was effortless, but because of the simple habits she’s built over time that helped her lose over 150 pounds and completely change her life. That’s what consistency actually looks like.

Another really cool moment from the night was watching Lindsay and Cory make an actual commitment to big fitness goals before the end of the year — Lindsay going for a half marathon and Cory taking on a HYROX. I even got a picture of them shaking on it, which felt very on-brand for this group. I’m seriously excited to help both of them work toward those goals and build the training around them.

We also did a drawing from our Week 7 and 8 Bingo Mini Challenge, and full transparency… I completely forgot to prep the physical drawing. Thankfully I had the file with everyone’s entries on my phone, so I grabbed the only piece of paper in my car (an old vehicle registration), wrote names on the back of it, tore it into pieces, and dropped them into a Dub cup for the drawing. Very Justine of me LOL (I know y'all know and appreciate so much). The winners of a free private or small-group training session in my new studio once it opens from Bingo were Ashley Cook and Karli Riechart.

For Those New Here — What Are These Challenges All About?

For anyone new to Tapp Into It Fitness, I’m Justine Tapp, and I run two 8-week challenges each year:

  • Spring Challenge — leading into summer
  • Fall Challenge — designed to support us through the three wildest months of the year: Halloween, Thanksgiving, and ending right before Christmas

The goal of these challenges is simple:

👉 build consistency that leads to big, sustainable change.

This is not about extreme dieting or chasing the scale. Instead, we focus on habits that actually move the needle long term.

Metrics We've Tracked During the Challenge

Depending on the round, we track things like:

  • Daily steps / movement
  • Water intake
  • Sleep
  • Strength training sessions
  • Protein intake
  • Mindset + reflection

Winners are not chosen based on weight loss or body composition numbers — they’re chosen based on consistency and effort across the full 8 weeks.

Weekly Mini Challenges + Big Grand Prizes

Each challenge includes weekly mini challenges to keep things fun, engaging, and focused on building habits that actually matter. Examples from past rounds include:

  • Hydration challenges (anything-but-a-cup week)
  • Protein-focused weeks
  • Outdoor movement challenges
  • Recovery and stress-management weeks
  • Bingo-style consistency challenges

Winners of weekly mini challenges received sponsored prizes typically valued around $40–$60 each, along with Tapp Into It Fitness merch or Tapp'd Delight baked goodies. At the end of the challenge, we also award grand prizes based on overall consistency, accountability, mindset, and strength training commitment — not weight loss or body composition numbers. These prizes included things like:

  • Free personal training sessions
  • Massage and recovery services
  • Fitness and wellness bundles
  • Studio training credits

Between the grand prizes and sponsored contributions, the total prize value was well over $1,500, all from a $30 entry, which is something I’m really proud of and something that continues to make these challenges accessible while still feeling special and rewarding.

Community Is a Huge Part of These Challenges

A big part of what makes these challenges different is the community piece. It’s not just about checking boxes in an app — it’s about actually getting people together, staying active, and building real connections.

This past round included group outings and events like:

  • Fowling Warehouse
  • Topgolf
  • Urban Hike KC Walking Tour of the Plaza and Loose Park
  • Loose Park evening walk and Kickoff Workout

These weren’t about intensity or competition — they were about staying active, meeting new people, and reinforcing that fitness doesn’t have to live only inside a gym. That community energy is something I care deeply about and will continue to build into every future challenge.

Sponsor Shoutout + Open Invite

A massive thank-you to the local businesses who helped support this round of the challenge:

Supplement SuperstoreKitch MealsEmbody StudioOnward Physical Therapyand Urban Hike KCTheir support helped power our weekly mini challenges, provide meaningful prizes, and elevate the overall experience for participants. Supporting local while building healthier habits is something I care deeply about. And honestly — I would love to keep growing this side of the challenge. If you’re a local business that values community, movement, wellness, and real human connection, and you’d like to be involved as a sponsor in future challenges, I’d absolutely love to connect.

A Quick Personal Note

I’ll be honest — I wasn’t as prepared to speak last night as I would’ve liked to be, and that’s on me. It’s really important to me that I do a better job of putting into words how much this community means to me and how much your feedback and participation have shaped what these challenges have become. I promise I’ll keep working on that, because you all deserve to hear how much I value the trust you place in me and the energy you bring into this space.

Thank you to everyone who showed up this round — to train, to stay consistent, to encourage others, and to celebrate together. I’m really proud of this group and excited for what’s next.

If you participated in this round, please take a minute to fill out the feedback survey I sent out — your input truly helps me keep refining these challenges and making them better and more aligned with what you all want and need. https://forms.gle/M9E5ZiXrDoZKsky36

What’s Next

The next challenge begins on Tuesday, April 28th, 2026 — about eight weeks before summer officially starts. We’ll also be hosting a Kickoff Workout + Happy Hour that same week on Thursday, April 30th at 5:30 PM at Onward Physical Therapy (9415 Nall Ave, Prairie Village, KS). More details coming soon, but I wanted to get that on your radar.

If you already know you want in on this next round and don't want to miss it, let me know now so I can add you to my list.

Really grateful for this community and excited to keep building what comes next — together.
