This past weekend reminded me just how much fun it can be to seek out events that align with your energy and lifestyle. A few weeks ago, I was in Chicago for a fitness festival and thought to myself, “Wow, I wish KC had more of this.”

Turns out, we do — You just have to look for them.

I kicked things off with a rooftop workout on the Plaza with Mojo Cycling. It was one of those high-energy mornings where you can feel the buzz in the air before class even starts and Katie took the time to start us all off with a great introduction and time to be grateful for the opportunity. We were blessed with the MOST BEAUTIFUL weather.

I even tried my very first cold plunge thanks to The Embody Studio, and let me tell you — I think the dopamine rush was real based off the impulsive buy I made on mid-century modern bedroom furnitire later that day LOL.

I also met some awesome local vendors like Shroovy Coffee (I won their giveaway!!!) and S2 Supplement Superstore, who always bring great energy to the KC fitness scene.

From there, I headed over to meet my wife at The AM Club, hosted by La Maison Experiences. This one was extra unique — a coffee-shop-meets-clubbing vibe, but in the morning at Brewer’s Kitchen’s new space next door. It was the kind of concept that flips the script on nightlife: good music, cool atmosphere, but all while drinking coffee instead of cocktails. Which is perfect for me, because let’s be real… I’m asleep by 8:30 most nights.

🌟 The Takeaway

You don’t have to live the party scene to have fun, find friends, and feel connected.

You don’t have to derail your healthy habits or sacrifice your sleep to feel like you belong.

The people you surround yourself with influence how you live your life — and these morning fitness communities have some of the best energy you’ll ever experience. Everyone’s in a good mood, clear-headed, and leaving with a boost instead of a hangover. That’s what I love most about KC’s growing fitness scene: you can find activities that match your lifestyle and keep you moving toward your goals.

-Networking & Local Connections-

Another thing I’ve really come to love about these events is the chance to meet other local fitness experts and people who are just as passionate about this space. Kansas City has such a strong “lift each other up” energy — it feels like everyone wants to see each other win. This past weekend, I ran into so many new faces well-known in the KC world. These connections fuel me — it’s inspiring to be surrounded by people who are creating, innovating, and supporting the wellness community. Networking feels natural when you’re surrounded by shared passion.

Shoutout to Aaron of RunitBlaKC, Kate, Katie, Natalie G, & Seraphine of Mojo Cycling, Ashley & Jake of Fittruk, and Denise of the J.

Build your circle around people who are excited to better themselves, and life overall improves in ways you didn’t expect.
