Challenge wins, HYROX NYC, and the studio becoming home

There has been a lot happening lately at Tapp Into It Fitness, and honestly, it feels like the right time to pause, reflect, and bring everyone along for the ride. Plus a Mini-Split getting placed in the Studio currently has forced me to take a slower day ;)

This season has been full — full of change, hard work, community, travel, training, late nights, big feelings, and so many reminders of why this business means so much to me.

Tapp Into It Fitness is growing. The studio is officially open. Small group training is beginning. Community workouts are coming. And somehow, in the middle of all of that, we made it to New York City for HYROX.

So here’s a little life/business/studio/community update.

We’re finishing out our 3rd Tapp Into It Fitness 8 Week Challenge

We are currently finishing out the third Tapp Into It Fitness 8 Week Challenge, and I am so proud of everyone who has been showing up through real life.

We’ve had weekly check-ins, mini-challenges, accountability partners, community events, another BINGO and so many little wins along the way. But if my challengers had to pick a couple of favorite moments from this round, I think it was for sure the KC Current game outing and the Murph workout.

The Current game was such a fun way to get people together outside of training. I wasn't even there and had the biggest FOMO! My wife and I love sharing our passion for the KC Current with anyone that will join us, so having a group of 30 or so of our supporters join in that was great.

The Murph was incredible, everyone truly pushed themselves out of their own comfort zone to complete this workout. Some showed up nervous, modified when needed, pushed themselves, supported each other, and left proud--including myself for everyone!

Those moments made something really clear to me: We need more chances to move together. So I’m excited to share that Tapp Into It Fitness will be adding monthly outdoor or pop-up community workouts. My current studio space is intentionally small, so I cannot safely or comfortably run larger classes there. But I still want to create opportunities for people to stay connected, move together, and feel like they have a fitness community.

These monthly workouts may look like outdoor strength circuits, park workouts, conditioning sessions, walks, pop-up workouts in rented spaces, or whatever makes sense for the season. More details will be coming soon, but I am really excited about this piece.

Tapp Into It Fitness went to New York City

Tapp Into It Fitness also explored New York City for the first time.

And the COO of the company — my wife, Whitney Tapp LOL — joined me for her first HYROX.

And not just any HYROX. Doubles Pro. Lol.

She did amazing.

We had such a great time in New York. We rode bikes through Central Park, saw Oh, Mary!, and even got Maya Rudolph's autograph, which was such a fun highlight. It was a quick trip, but honestly, it was needed. We have been absolutely busting our butts trying to get the studio finished, so having a little getaway together felt really special.

And then, in very us fashion, we came home and immediately got back to work.

From New York back to the studio

Our flight home was supposed to get in Tuesday around 5 PM.Instead, we got home around midnight. And because the studio still needed to be ready for clients by 5:30 AM the next morning, we stayed up way too late getting everything together, including carrying this Hack Squat/Leg Press and plates all the way upstairs from being stored in Whitney's van believing we would have plenty of time to set it up when we got home (dang it flight delays).

But we made it happen.

And I am so excited to say that Tapp Into It Fitness Studio is now officially my primary training spot.

Every session in here has already shown what this space was built for: focused coaching, quality movement, real strength work, and clients showing up ready to WORK.

Phase 1 is officially in motion upstairs with strength, cables, free weights, barbell work, boxing, and plenty of room to get after it.

Phase 2 in the beginning stages: unfinished space, but sweaty cardio vibes that you want with the Cardio Equipment: treadmill, rower, SkiErg, and wall balls — giving us even more space to build conditioning, hybrid-style workouts, and full-body training.

More actual work getting done. And honestly, that is exactly what I wanted this space to feel like.

The studio is coming together

This studio has been a long time coming. Recent reel posted in details about that. Permit start back in 2023, build start in 2025, and here we are.

There have been stressful conversations, late nights, sweat, literal tears, and so many moments where I wondered if building this thing was supposed to be this complicated.

The bathroom was officially finished Tuesday morning, and my dad literally took a special trip into town to help make that happen for me. It meant so much. I still don’t think I have fully processed how much support has gone into getting this space ready.

Friends, family, clients, Whitney, my dad — so many people have helped, encouraged, problem-solved, carried things, fixed things, listened to me stress, and believed in what this could become. Even Ed dropped off a portable AC Unit for me to borrow and Clay ended up setting it up for me after he just got done sweating his booty off during his session as I started Ashley's session (which was still a toasty one).

I am deeply grateful.

I cannot wait for everything that is still to come in this space. It already feels surreal to be training clients here, and at the same time, I’m reminding myself that building something new doesn’t mean it has to feel “finished” overnight.

One of my business BOSS clients recently reminded me that none of her stores ever truly feel “open” until about 90 days in — and honestly, I needed to hear that.

So I’m giving myself that same grace in this first-time business/studio owner season.

Still building. Still learning. Still so dang grateful.

Training clients in the studio.

Launching small group.

Keeping the community connected.
